A table has been set up in memory of Elise.  It is in the front foyer and there is a very large card that we would like a lot of people to sign.  This card will be given to Elise's parents at her memorial on October 3rd.  All staff and students are encouraged to sign.  You are welcome to just sign your name on the card.


Coming up on Thursday October 1st the whole school will be participating in the Terry Fox Run! Bring your running or walking shoes and wear your Parkland colours and gear because this important event is not to be missed! Our goal is to raise 1000 dollars, so all next week from Sept 28-Oct 1 we will be doing Toonies for Terry. We are challenging all Parkland Panthers (students and staff) to help us reach our goal. Stop by the front foyer at lunch or look out for the panther to make your donation!


ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: THERE IS A NEW DROP BOX FOR STUDENTS ON FRONT COUNTER IN OFFICE. Please ensure your name and your teacher's name is on any paperwork you hand in. ALSO, all STUDENT START-UP ENVELOPES ARE NOW OVERDUE - PLEASE RETURN ASAP!

Parkland rowers competed in the 1st regatta of the season at Elk Lake this Sunday in beautiful but blustery weather.  Rowing against the wind was challenging but all Parkland rowers did well, particularly all the new rowers.  The event was lots of fun and being able to stay warm by the fire pit and drink hot chocolate under the Parkland tent was a bonus!

The mezz will now be open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for PE make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. A big thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!

Sara Lawton from the Youth Employment Program at Beacon will be in the Careers Center at Lunch on Tuesday September 29th.

This a fabulous opportunity to meet Sara and discuss YEP Benefits such as:

For those interested in a little challenge and fun, the Army Reserve is hosting a Soldier for a Day program on 31 October 2015. This program is an introduction to the role of the Canadian Armed Forces - Army Reserve both here in Canada and around the world. It’s also worth 5 hours of work experience. Students in grades 10 to 12 should see Ms McNamee for more information.




STUDIO 63 HAIR MODELS NEEDED: If you have long hair, and would like some layers put in, FREE CUT, COLOUR AND UPDO available - November 2, 8:30 to 1 p.m. Please contact Ms. McNamee to volunteer!


Local Sidney Cafe looking for someone to work on Saturdays. See Ms. McNamee ASAP!


SIDNEY LITERARY FESTIVAL: October 2 and 3 - volunteers needed to take tickets, show guests to their seats,

serve coffee and tea and snacks to presenting authors. Friday Oct 2, from 6:30 to 10; Saturday Oct 3, from 9 to 1:30, and 1 to 5, or 6:30 to 10. See Ms. McNamee to volunteer and meet some Canadian authors!


Local Tutoring Job  Interested in being a teacher??  Kumon is looking for someone with  strong English skills, reliability, solid work habits, and a desire to work with students ranging in age from 3 years and up.  Hours of work would be immediately after school to about 6 p.m. every Monday and Thursday. See Ms. McNamee ASAP
