All staff and students are invited to Elise's Memorial tomorrow (Saturday) here at Parkland at 1 p.m.
Your last chance to sign the card for Elise's family will be today.
 
We are looking for some student volunteers after school today to help decorate
for Elise's memorial tomorrow.  If you wait at school Friday afternoons for the bus,
this is a chance to help us before your bus gets here.  Meet Ms. Chicanot in the front
foyer after school today if you can help.

ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

INTRAMURALS: see schedule posted through the school year in the gym.

Congrats to  Jr. Girls volleyball team, who won all of their first Sets of the year yesterday, with wins over Vic High, Oak Bay, and Mount Doug!!! Great start girls! The Jr. Girls have a home game  Monday OCTOBER 5, 2015, come cheer them on!

The mezz will now be open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for PE make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. A big thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA rep Shaun Caviliere will visit Parkland @ lunch, FRIDAY OCTOBER 16 to meet with students about UBC programs, applications, etc. Please see UBC rep in upper conference meeting room.

SEE NOTICE BOARDS / CAREER CENTRE DOOR for YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM - Volunteer & Summer Job Opportunities! Something for everyone.

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital auxiliary is having a Christmas Bazaar at Mary Winspear on Sat. Nov. 14.
They are in need of 5 volunteers to help load a truck with sale items.
Students need to be available on Friday morningat 8:30 am to unload the truck at the
Mary Winspear Centre. Then Sat. afternoon at 3:00 p.m.,
5 helpers would be needed to load the truck again and unload it at the lockers and hospital
with the unsold items.
This a a fabulous opportunity to get volunteer hours and help with a very worthwhile event. 
All money raised from the Bazaar goes to YOUR local Hospital.

CORN MAZE AT PENDRAY FARMS: Pendray Farms is requesting volunteers to help launch Vancouver Island Corn Maze, located at 9537 West Saanich Road, OPEN OCTOBER 1 TO 31, 2015. For a short-term, but FUN voluntter experience, all interested students please see Ms, McNamee at lunch on Friday October 2 to sign up for various jobs, including parking, ticket sales, maze monitor, calves monitor, night maze monitoring. See fantastic posters of maze design in Career Centre, and at front office.

For those interested in a little challenge and fun, the Army Reserve is hosting a Soldier for a Day program on 31 October 2015. This program is an introduction to the role of the Canadian Armed Forces - Army Reserve both here in Canada and around the world. It’s also worth 5 hours of work experience. Students in grades 10 to 12 should see Ms McNamee for more information.

STUDIO 63 HAIR MODELS NEEDED: If you have long hair, and would like some layers put in, FREE CUT, COLOUR AND UPDO available - November 2, 8:30 to 1 p.m. Please contact Ms. McNamee to volunteer!

Local Tutoring Job - Interested in being a teacher?? Strong English skills, reliability, solid work habits, and a desire to work with students ranging in age from 3 years and up is required.  Hours of work would be immediately after school to about 6 p.m. every Monday and Thursday. See Ms. McNamee ASAP

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY from 3:15 to 4: 30 p.m.; FRIDAY from 1:50 to 3:10 p.m. In ROOM 103.
