excellent races yesterday: Joseph Bond, Arianne Stevenson, and Simon James. Our next

SENIOR BOYS SOCCER HOME GAME VERSUS SMU, is POSTPONED to Tuesday October 13.

UVIC VIKES SOCCER hosting INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NIGHT: Saturday October 24 @ Centennial Stadium. Women's game @ 5 p.m., Men's game @ 7:15 p.m. First 20 international students from each school at the gate will get FREE ENTRY! Every international student after the first twenty will get in to both games for half price, or $3.50. First annual Vancouver Island College Event (VICE) will take place on TUESDAY OCTOBER 13, 2015 AT SMU (ST.  MICHAEL'S  UNIVERSITY SCHOOL) senior school campus. Institutions to be represented include: UCLA,  UC SANTA BARBARA, UC SANTA CRUZ, LOYOLA, UNIVERSITY OF OREGON, TUFTS, SEATTLE UNIVERSITY & others. Sign up on Mr. Choo's door if you'd like a ride to St. Michael's. Please note: you have to provide your own transport home.


UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA advisor Shaun Cavaliere will be available at Parkland on Friday October 16
@ lunch in the counselling area meeting room to answer any students' questions about admission, programs, or scholarships.  Everyone is welcome to drop In at lunchtime, Friday October 16th.


POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS B.C. (PSIBC) MINIFAIR is being hosted by Claremont on Thursday October 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. @ Claremont Learning Commons. Ten post-secondary institutions from across B.C. will be participating, including: QUEST, SFU, CAMOSUN, UVIC, VIU and others.

GET INVOLVED IN PLANNING the new YEP JOB FAIR, to take place SPRING 2016. From October 30 to December 20, get involved in planning, research, invitations, creating posters and promotions. See Ms. McNamee to get involved.

Soldier for a Day program: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7,  2015. Introduces the role of the Canadian Armed Forces - Army Reserve in Canada and internationally. Worth 5 hours work experience. Students grades 10 to 12 should see Ms McNamee for more info.

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital auxiliary is having a Christmas Bazaar at Mary Winspear on Sat. Nov. 14.
Volunteers needed to help load and unload truck with sale items;  See Ms. McNamee to sign up for volunteer credits!

JAZZ BAND - Monday, 7 a.m., Band Room; CONCERT BAND  - Tuesday, 7 a.m., Band Room; CHOIR - Friday, 7 a.m., Theatre.

BAGEL BREAKFAST: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday mornings, before school, @ blue tables area.

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORIAL: TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY from 3:15 to 4: 30 p.m.; FRIDAY from 1:50 to 3:10 p.m. In ROOM 103.
