REPORT CARDS & STUDENT id CARDS CAN BE PICKED UP @ front office - at BREAK, at LUNCH OR AFTER SCHOOL!

TICKETS FOR GRAD WINTER SEMI-FORMAL next Thursday December 3, on sale this week in the front foyer. Get your tickets early for this special grad event, $40 each!  Please see Ms. Wigbers in front office to pick up PREPAID TICKETS.

Hello Parkland!  get your STUDENT ID READY! On Monday NOVEMBER 30, Parkland Library Learning Commons will be implementing a new library system and want all students to start carrying their Parkland ID cards with them when they come to borrow books and textbooks.

Listen up Parkland- it's time to give back this Holiday Season. Beginning next week, December 11, all block B classes will be helping out with not one, but two great causes! Annual food drive will be taking place in support of Sidney Lions Food Bank! Also, NEW this year, we are collecting stocking stuffers for teens in support of Santa's Anonymous. Start getting together your non-perishable food items, as well as holiday stocking stuffers, and bring them to your B block class. Prize for the class that collects the most items! Stelly's has challenged us to see who can raise more - let's show them how thoughtful Parkland Panthers are and win this one!
 
ALL students registered in Psychology 12 and Law 12 next semester must get their applications
in ASAP. Please make an appointment with Ms. Anderson to review your application if need be.

2016 Fresh Minds Symposium: WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 20, 2016

The University of Victoria is pleased to present the 2016 Fresh Minds Symposium, a day-long youth conference for grade 9 students from across BC. Participants will:

  • Engage in a variety of different interactive workshops and presentations
  • Learn basic tools that will help them become effective leaders
  • Get an early taste of university life!
  • If you're grade 9 and interested, sign up on the list on Mr. Choo's door by the end of next week.

FREE TEEN FEST EVENT: November 28, 2015 at Pearkes Recreation Centre - Skateboarding, makeovers, free entertainment all day! Pick up entry tickets at school front office if interested.

FREE MUSIC CONCERT FOR STUDENTS 19 and under: SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29 @ 2:30 p.m.; St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Sidney, includes: Bach piano concertos with Robert Holliston on piano.

ALL GRADS: Many new university, college and trade school academic calendars and
catalogues have arrived in the Career Centre. Come and have a look!

Also: any 2016 GRADS applying for early admission, or for scholarships or bursaries, please give at least two days notice to the front office for obtaining copies of your current transcript.

ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:
Farewell to Some International Students: Sadly, today we have to say goodbye to six of our international students.  We are going to miss you Veronica, Mattias, Victoria, Ignacio, Minori and Antonia!!  Thank you for choosing Parkland; we wish you all the best and safe travels home.


International Winter Dance:  district winter dance is on Wednesday, Dec 2nd at Stelly's, from 6 to 8 p.m. 
There is no cost for this fun night but you must sign up in advance with Ms. Jocelyne.  You don't want to miss this event!


ATHLETICS, SPORTS TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Attention all students interested in 3 vs 3 lunch basketball intramurals: Sign up your team by handing in the form to the PE office or the Main Office, by Friday  November 27. League Starts next week.

Friday NOVEMBER 27:          Sr Boys 2 - 4 p.m ;  Sr Girls 4  - 6 p. m.

Jr. and Sr. Girls volleyball, uniforms due back to Tommi by December 1st. 


All SENOR BOYS soccer players who are ordering a hoodie or jacket must have their order and money in to Mr. Sutton ASAP.  Also please return your uniform by Friday.

MATH HELP CENTRE:  open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays - after school until 4 p.m. for extra math help. Meet in room 105 for help with any math course you are taking this semester.

MEZZANINE IN GYM AREA: now open at lunch, Monday to Thursday, for P.E. make-ups and for students to work out. Students must be in full PE strip and should enter through the back door of the mezz. thank you to Mrs. Beaucamp for making this happen!
