Congratulations to Hayley Schafer, who was awarded a $1500 Bob Ennis Bursary, sponsored by the Sidney Retreads. The bursary will pay for Hayley to attend the Parkland Hockey Academy in 2016-17.
To honor the memory of Bob Ennis, a one-time bursary was set up by the Retreads Hockey Club to provide encouragement and financial support to a young hockey player who may not be able to afford training. Typical of Bob’s ability to recognize a person’s strengths, this bursary will also encourage and validate a hockey player’s choice to strengthen his/her skills and character and be the best hockey player he/she can be.
Hayley received the award from Mrs. Ennis, her daughter, grandchildren and 2 members of the Retreads Hockey Club.
