ALL GRADS: GRAD PHOTOS have started! If you haven't already booked your appointment, please go on-line with LIFETOUCH and book your appointment asap. All appointments take place in trailer by front doors of school. Appointments open only until: NOVEMBER 23, SO DON'T MISS IT!

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18 - PARKLAND JAZZ BAND plays at the Malawi Benefit @ Mary Winspear, 7 p.m. Tickets: Mary Winspear Centre.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18 - SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL AA ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS AT PARKLAND, Friday and Saturday - come out and cheer the Panthers on!


BOOK CLUB IS STARTING UP AGAIN - first meeting @ lunch in the Library / Learning commons, Monday November 21. See Jadzia in the library if you have any questions.

LIBRARY / LEARNING COMMONS will be closed in the morning, Thursday November 24, and will re-open at 12:30 p.m.

STELLY'S ANNUAL GLOBAL GALA - THURSDAY NOVEMBER 24 - from 5 to 9 p.m. @ Stelly's Secondary - annual fundraiser for Global Perspectives group making a different and helping those in need locally and internationally - this year's trip to Kochi, India! Tickets - Stelly's office, $15 per person.

ALL GRADS: PARKLAND GRAD 2017 GRADWEAR ORDER FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT FRONT OFFICE COUNTER. Please note: ordering deadline is: Friday November 25. Don't miss it!

ALL STUDENTS: IF YOU HAVE NOT PICKED UP YOUR PHOTOS, RETAKES, STUDENT CARD OR BUS CARD, PLEASE DO SO @ break, lunch, or after school, from front office.

MINDFULNESS GROUP is meeting on Monday's and Friday's at lunch in the upper conference room. Come and take a break from your busy day while learning techniques to calm your mind and body. All students and staff are welcome!

NOTICE FOR ALL JUNIOR GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING BASKETBALL THIS YEAR: Please come to an important informational meeting today, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18 at lunch in the Career Centre. Ms. Yager will be there to talk about the next trys-outs coming up, and the potential schedule for the year!


NOTICE TO ALL JUNIOR BOYS WHO TRIED OUT FOR THE JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM: The first cut is now posted on the bulletin board just inside the main doors to the GYM.
For those of you who did not make the list, please continue to work on your game (especially the Grade 9's), and come out to try-uts next year!

CAREER CENTRE, CAREER EVENTS, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB AND VOLUNTEER POSTINGS:

Ms. McNamee will be away next week for three days to attend a Careers Conference. If you need to see her regarding your WORK EXPERIENCE OR VOLUNTEERING, please see her today. Ms. Ford will be in the Careers office in the afternoons if you need to hand in paperwork.  Please remember - all grade 12 students - a minimum of 30 hours work experience is required in order to qualify for Grad Transitions.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES COMING UP:
1.  NOVEMBER 25 -  SAINT PAUL'S CHURCH ANNUAL ADVENT FESTIVAL: November 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. - Volunteers needed to prep and serve international foods; set up and clean up; learn to use commercial dishwasher.

2. DECEMBER 3 - BREAKFAST WITH SANTA - MARY WINSPEAR CENTRE: 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. - share the excitement with young families by helping the Lions serve pancakes and sausage - breakfast provided to volunteers.


ABORIGINAL YOUTH CONFERENCE HOSTED BY VNFC: November 25 and 26 - aborignal speakers, prizes, games. See Ms. McNamee for further information.

NOTICE TO STUDENT WORKERS:  September 15th,  B.C. Minimum Wage went up to $10.85!!!!  Check your paycheque!


MUSIC REHEARSALS ALL YEAR:
JAZZ BAND - Monday and Wednesday; 7 a.m.;  CONCERT BAND - Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m.; CHOIR - Friday, 7 a.m. ALL REHEARSALS TAKE PLACE IN THE MUSIC ROOM.

BAGEL BREAKFAST:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings, before school, at the BLUE TABLES area.
