Grade 8 students from North Saanich spent the morning at Parkland to take part in a YES 2 IT event - Youth Exploring Skills to Industry Training. YES 2 IT is a joint initiative of the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) designed to increase awareness of trades among younger students.
The students from North Saanich were involved in hands on activities in Auto, Carpentry, and Metal, and built a beautiful candle holder. They also were given information about many Skills and Trades courses offered at Parkland.
