FRIDAY OCTOBER 27,  2017:

1. Door Decorating: DECORATE your block C door with  Halloween decorations - the BEST class  will win a prize! Winner will be picked on Halloween day.

2. Trick or Treating: Come to school dressed as in your best HALLOWEEN COSTUME and TRICK OR TREAT during break and lunch! More information on participating classes will be posted later.

3. Costume Contest: At lunch in the foyer, come wearing your HALLOWEEN COSTUME and winner gets a cool prize! Stick around for a group photo too!

FOR ANY INTERESTED STUDENTS - meet REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY in the front foyer at lunch, TODAY Friday October 27. Ask questions about the University and what it might be like to go there. Look for display table.

Mandarin 12 Challenge - Monday, November 6 at 4 p.m. at SIDES.  Exam will cost $150.  Also check that the universities you are applying to will accept a mark from a challenge course. PLEASE NOTE: DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THIS EXAM IS MONDAY OCTOBER 30 - YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER TO WRITE THE EXAM. Please see Ms. McRae for application form.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2017: for grad 2018, and all interested parents - PARENTS AS CAREER COACHES - FREE SEMINAR  - from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., @ Stelly's Secondary:  Capilano University Instructor Marion Haythorne  presents workshop on guiding your high school grad through many post-secondary choices available. Gain confidence in helping your students discover their values, interests and skills, and match them to education and career pathways.

Are you an artist, wordsmith or filmmaker? Essays, poems, posters welcome. Create ART OR LITERATURE about Remembrance Day, what it means to you and Canada. Deadline: Nov 15, 2017; entry forms available front office.

OSEF non-profit group which facilitates reciprocal student exchanges between Canada and Europe, is holding 2018/19 exchange year general information meeting: TUESDAY NOVEMBER 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m,, @ CLAREMONT SECONDARY. Students aged 13 to 17 are matched with partners from France, Belgium or Spain,  and take turns hosting each other in their respective countries. GRADE 12 'S: U of Toronto NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP  accepting applications. This scholarship fully covers tuition & expenses for four years of undergrad study at U of T. Deadline: Nov 3, 2017. Email Mr. Choo or Ms. Rioux for details.
