ARMED FORCES INTERACTIVE EVENT, INFORMATION & RECRUITERS
INFORMATION - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. @ Bay Street
Armoury, 713 Bay Street Victoria. Try on gear, try physical fitness
test, experience combat simulator, sample survival food, meet military
members, find out about their jobs and education within the Canadian
Navy, Army, or Air Force.
SheBiz Victoria:
SheBiz
is a free day-long event for girls in grades 9 – 11 offering unique
access to business and STEM leaders, and exposure to diverse and
exciting career opportunities available to women in these fields.. Stats
Canada has reported that female high school students earn better grades
in STEM subjects than their male counterparts, but when we
look ahead females are underrepresented in these programs in university
and later the workforce. As an organization SheBiz is hoping to help
bridge this gap by providing young girls with information on careers in
business, science, technology and math before they make the big
decisions effecting their future education and career. SheBiz Victoria
will be held at St. Margaret’s School on November 17th, 2017. See Ms.

OSEF non-profit
group which facilitates reciprocal student exchanges between Canada and
Europe, is holding 2018/19 exchange year general info meeting: TUESDAY
NOVEMBER 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m,, @ CLAREMONT SECONDARY. Students aged
13 to 17 are matched with partners from France, Belgium or Spain, and

Parkland Rowers performed well at the City Championships over the weekend despite the cold windy weather.
First place finishes include:
The Senior Mixed Eight Race with Karla Cumming, Danaka Howard-Batek, Cor Van Stolk, Kelsie Wolfe, Devon Keeler, Escher Nicholson, Ben Sammons, Anna Hulbert, and Meridith Bonneau.
Senior Mens Double with Escher Nicholson and Cor van Stolk;
Senior Womens Double with Anna Hulbert and Danaka Howard-Batek;
Senior Mens Quad with Escher Nicholson, Karla Cumming, Cor Van Stolk & Devon Keeler.
Also,Meredith Bonneau finished third in the Senior Advanced single AND the Championship single.
We had a 2nd place finish in the senior advanced womens eight.
And finally, Ben Sammons finished 4th in the senior advanced mens single.
Congratulate these athletes if you see them in the hall today.
