THURSDAY JANUARY 11, 2018 - WELCOME BACK EVERYONE! AND HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2018


DEBATE CLUB MEETING: today - Thursday January 11 @ lunch, Room 111, to start preparing for the MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION on Law Day in April. All interested students are welcome to attend.




IMPORTANT CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT COMING TO PARKLAND:


MONDAY JANUARY 15, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for students; 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for parents.


Event allows students to try skills for different careers in demand across B.C. Interactive activity stations include: accounting, welding, carpentry, and more. Students can access career info, tools and services, and apply life experiences to career planning.


Parents may attend after school, and early evening. FIND YOUR FIT is part of B.C.'s Skills for Jobs Blueprint commitment to deliver the skilled workforce needed in our growing economy. This event is FREE to our SD 63 school community. Parkland welcomes students and parents to explore the program, and discover how to find that perfect fit for a wonderful career!



REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS & STAFF REGARDNG OUR UPCOMING EXAM WEEK -

Exam schedule is now posted on the main page of our Parkland website; please ensure that you check to see when your exams are scheduled. More importantly to all students - if you have any exam conflicts listed - two or more exams running at the same time - PLEASE CHECK with your teachers as well as Mr. Buckham to have a plan put in place for you to write one of your conflicting exams at another time during exam week.




PARKLAND MUSICAL THEATRE: Tickets for INTO THE WOODS are now for sale! Show runs Wednesday, January 31 - Saturday, February 3, 2018. Theatre doors open at 6:40 p.m. - show begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. All evening ticket prices are $15.00.

We are excited to announce a Saturday Matinee for our younger audiences at a reduced price this year! Matinee tickets are $12.00. Theatre doors open at 1:40 p.m.; show begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. This show is appropriate for kids 6 years and up.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PARKLAND JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL team, for their win over SMU Wednesday night, by 15 points! Great start!

Our JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM played well against SMU as well on Wednesday night - good effort everyone!



CONGRATULATIONS to PARKLAND  JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL team, who soundly defeated CLAREMONT Tuesday evening, by 20 points!



BADMINTON CLUB BEGINS AGAIN! Badminton Club will be up and running this Friday January 12, after school, from 2 to 3 p.m. See you there!




NOTICE TO ALL RUGBY PLAYERS: because of recent poor weather, and the upcoming exam week, rugby practices will be postponed for the next few eeks, and will start up again on Wednesday January 31 at 2:15 p.m.

5. HAWTHORNE PLACE - $15 per hour, 4 hours weekly; looking for landscaping, yardwork help.

6. RESTHAVEN DRIVE - $15.00 per hour; two students needed to help with moving in Sidney, from townhouse to condo.
