Parkland Panthers will be representing our school today - WEDNESDAY MAY 9 - at the CITY FINALS FOR TRACK & FIELD, @ UVIC. Good luck to the small but mighty Parkland Track & Field team!


THANK YOU TO Parkland's GOOD CITIZEN of the week, LILY THOLL! She found a sum of money in the hallway earlier this spring, and turned it in to the front office. No claim was made, so it became Lily's reward. Congratulations on your honesty, Lily!

2 MESSAGES FROM PARKLAND PAC:

1. STAFF APPRECIATION DINNER - THURSDAY MAY 10 - Parkland PAC is organizing a Staff Appreciation meal, to show Parkland staff how much they are appreciated. See website link to become involved, to contribute, and to volunteer.

2.  BAGEL PROGRAM: Bagels and juice boxes available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45 to 8:20 a.m., @ 25 cents each, funded by PAC group, & local donations.  Volunteers needed. Please contact Christine: lainecrt@telus.net.

ALL STUDENTS: OUR CAREER CENTRE HAS SO MANY SUMMER JOBS POSTED MS. MCNAMEE IS HAVING A SPECIAL "job meeting at lunch" on FRIDAY MAY 11 in the Career Centre for everyone interested in fast-tracking their way to summer employment. We have many summer job opportunities for keen and eager students wanting to develop some skills and earn some $$$. Come to the Career Centre on Friday, May 11th @ lunch, to hear more about the Jobs and how to prepare yourself...resume, cover letter, interview tips, etc. AND -  where and how to apply for a good summer job!


ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: THE SPRING FOOD DRIVE is happening from May 14 to 18. Make sure to donate non-perishable food items or money to support our local food bank. Collection happens in Block B.

YOUNG WOMEN IN OCEAN LITERACY CONSERVATION: for female students, includes kayaking, team building, hiking, leadership. 1. ROOM 201, EACH DAY FOR 1 HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES, with Mr. Morley - available to help students with MATH, CALCULUS, SCIENCE, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY. OPEN to all students, including those working on SIDES courses.

2. TUTORIALS IN LEARNING CENTRE: REMINDER TO ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS - TUTORIAL IS AVAILABLE daily after school.                                            Wednesday & Friday tutorial times are best for longer tests & assignments.
3. LEARNING COMMONS SUPPORT: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday day after school until 3:40 p.m., Wednesday   & Friday until 3:35 p.m.                                    PLEASE NOTE: ELL TUTOR also available Wednesday & Friday after school.
