Congrats to the small but mighty Parkland Track and Field team! They did amazing at the BC's.

  • Ben Sammons
  • Cooper Langard
  • Misaki Akutagawa
  • Alexis Van Den Bulk

Misaki Akutagawa Placed 4th in the Javelin for the Sr. Girls....4th in the Whole Province! A fantastic season for Misaki! She made new friends with the other competitors around the province and is a joy to watch throwing!

Misaki

Ben Sammons Placed 8th in the Sr. Boys 200m. He set a PB in the Heats to qualify for the Finals. Very impressive! In the 400m he placed 10th in the heats and just missed a spot in the finals. This is Ben's last time racing for Parkland and he has been a role model and leader on our team...will we miss his talent and quiet, determined personality!

Ben

Cooper Langard did awesome in the distance running. In the 1500m, the tactics of the race made it a 6 ways sprint for the last 50 meters with 4 runners finishing within a second. He finished 13th and just missed the finals. The 3000m field was huge with 30 runners, and most in grade 12. Cooper did awesome and finished 17th. Big things to come next year.

Cooper

Alexis Van Den Bulk our grade 9 athlete, after singing Friday night at Sidfest, came over the BC's and placed 14 out of 30 throwers in the Discus. Future is bright!
