Reminder to ALL SENIOR LEADERSHIP STUDENTS: you have a meeting today THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1 @ LUNCH IN ROOM 108. If you wish to remain in the course, you need to be there. If you will be absent, please see Ms. Frith or Mr. Mickelson ASAP!


THE BAMFIELD MARINE BIOLOGY TRIP has had one spot open for the November 15 to 18 trip. This is a marine biology trip of a lifetime on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Please see Ms. Stinson in Room 102 ASAP for more information if you are interested!


PARKLAND CAFETERIA needs responsible, hard-working volunteers in A & C block. Earn hours for graduation or credits. If you are thinking of working in the Food industry this would be great experience. Please see Ms. Chicanot or Mr. Buckham.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2 - PARKLAND SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM versus PARKLAND ALUMNI - fundraising dinner and basketball game proceeds donated to assist the Philipines. Dinner @ 6 p.m., Game @ 7 p.m. Intermission raffle and contests! Tickets $20 for FAMILY; $10 for INDIVIDUAL; from John Mark @ Parkland; potluck dinner donations appreciated. 


METAL RECYCLING BIN @ PARKLAND! UNTIL SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3! Please drop off any metal to recycle bin @ back staff parking lot. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to Parkland athletics & hockey academy to support student athletes. 


SAIL ON A TALL SHIP: SALTS PROGRAM summer 2019 registration opens Saturday November 3 at 10 a.m. - student trainees encounter beauty in nature,  genuine sense of community, and adventure learning to sail. PARKLAND GRAD BOTTLE DRIVE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Due to poor weather and sceduling conflicts, the Grad Bottle Drive has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled in the spring. If you have refndables you can still bring them to Island Return It in Sidney (10025 Galaran Road), and indicate that you would like the fundsto go to Parkland Grad 2019. Sorry for any inconvenience!

CALL TO ACTION: in the face of climate change, there are things you can do! Sidney / North Saanich Library Teen Advisory Group is hoping to fill a special bag with letters, wishes, photos and drawings about sustainability and the Saanich Peninsula environment created by you. The bag will be presented to Elizabeth May at the first ever Sidney Summit on Habitat and Environment  held at Mary Winspear Center, Saturday November 10, 2018.  See ideas, notice board by front office. CONGRATULATIONS to the SENIOR BOYS SOCCER team who defeated Lambrick Park 3 to 2 Tuesday. The team was down 1 - 0 at the half, but then Jon scored 2 goals, and Carlos a 3rd goal, for Parkland to go up 3 to 1. Lambrick scored their second goal with two minutes left in the game. Great game by the whole team. Congrats Panthers!

SHOAL CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17 FROM 10 A.M. TO 2 P.M. - serve coffee and cookies to patrons, work the YEP table wrapping gifts as a fundraiser. Four volunteers needed. This Craft Fair is really fun - see Ms. McNamee ASAP!


LIONS CLUB - BREAKFAST WITH SANTA- SATURDAY DECEMBER 1 - Santa hats on, serving food to young families whose children come to sit on Santa's knee and tell him their Christmas wishes. Check for morning start time.


SIDNEY SPARKLES PARADE - SUNDAY DECEMBER 2 - student volunteers needed to decorate the Beacon Community Services truck, and walk in the parade! Check for date and time!


SHOAL CENTRE BRIDGE CLUB DINNER - WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 5 - student volunteers needed for serving and banquet help. Check for evening start time!


SIDNEY AVIATION MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE - FRIDAY DECEMBER 28 - student volunteers needed to support open house - old planes, paper airplane making, crafts, aircraft carrier demonstration, flight simulators, new flying maze. See Ms. McNamee for sign up!
