ALL GRADS: THE FIRST DRAFT SPREADSHEET OF THOSE 2019 GRADS WHO HAVE FULLY QUALIFIED FOR THEIR GT INTERVIEW TO BE SCHEDULED IS NOW POSTED ON THE GRAD BOARD. You need "yes" four times! Any questions, see front office ASAP!

You are responsible for ensuring that all your GRADUATION TRANSITION paperwork is done - either uploaded on MY BLUEPRINT, or handed in to front office, in the case of WORK EXPERIENCE OR VOLUNTEER info. LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL & COMMUNITY LIVING RESOURCE FAMILY FAIR 2019 - SATURDAY APRIL 6 @ Royal Oak Middle School Gym; 11:30 to 3:30 p.m. This is a chance for community to network with current service providers to find out what supports and services are provided in our area.

HELLO PARKLAND! We are pleased to announce that Parkland's 2019 SHOWCASE has arrived! It will be happening on Thursday May 2 in the evening in the Parkland Theatre. If you are interested in having your work and/or talent showcased, audition dates are: April 11th, 15th, and 16th, at lunch, in the theatre. Examples of submissions include comedy sketches, drama performances, singing, dancing, visual arts, music, and so on!  ALL TALENTS ARE WELCOME, but please make sure your act is school appropriate! For further information, please contact Cameron Bolduc, Cathy Fu, Ms. Thompson, or Ms. Frith.


FINAL DAYS TO GET YOUR YEARBOOK! A great way to look back at your high school memories! The last day to order your yearbook will be Thursday April 18. Students can check the order list in the front foyer to see if they still need to place their yearbook order.

TRACK & FIELD CONGRATS! Awesome job to everyone who participated in the first Track & Field meet at UVIC on Wednesday. Parkland did fabulously! Cooper, Alexis, CArlos, Blanca, John Mark, Taiga - all had amazing results. Some Firsts, Seconds, Third and Fourth! Next meet is April 10th at UVIC!


CONGRATULATIONS TO JOSEPH BOND and CAITLIN GAULT for being selected to play in the Island Seniors All Star Basketball Games this coming Saturday April 6th at Spectrum Secondary! The boys' game goes at 3:30 p.m., and the girls' game goes at 5:15 p.m.. Come on out to cheer them on if you can make it!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR PARKLAND STUDENTS who participated in the Regional Skills Canada Competitions @ Camosun in March. Our students did so well that PARKLAND FINISHED WITH BRONZE OVERALL MEDAL for third most medals in the competitions.

Congrats to: GOLD Kai Erfle in Graphic Design; SILVER Gurvir Bairwan and Brennan Williams, in Joinery and Carpentry respectively; BRONZE Addison McDonald in Joinery, and Marl Napaguage in Auto Mechanics; Qw'a'ii'si Modeste in Welding. The three other Parkland competitors were: Alexic Rodgrigues and Patrick Wilson in Joinery, and Dawson Valgardson in Welding - awesome showing, everyone!

KAI ERFLE will represent Parkland and the Lower Island at Skills BC in Abbotsford April 17 - good luck, KAI! We are so proud of you!

NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: 

BRENTWOOD BAY ELEMENTARY: annual spring fundraiser - May 18, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. - volunteers to help with games, inflatables, and face painting. 


OPEN AIR LIBRARY IS SEEKING VOLUNTEERS: 3 hours per day, Tuesdays, during July and August, from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. each Tuesday. This free program encourages reading, sharing ideas, books and literacy-related resources in a relaxed and accessible outdoor space for all ages.
