PARKLAND DAILY NEWS:

Tuesday November 17, 2020     Quarter 2 has started ~ DAY 2

Just a reminder for Grade 9 students/parents, the Immunization forms are now over due, please return them to the office asap.

Quarter 2 Bus Routes - Morning pick up will remain the same, to bring you to school. Lunch time – return home from school – go to the bus loop right after your Block 1 class. After school buses run at regular time to take you home.

The Parkland Track 2021 campaign has been officially launched.  You will notice posters in the school and around the community advertizing this campaign.  We hope to raise enough money by June of next year to replace the track over the summer.  Please spread the word about this exciting new project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE NOW button on the website for those interested in donating.

Are you a student who is interested in local government, city design, environment or business?  Are you looking for something interesting to do and add to your resume?  The Town of Sidney has put together committees to make plans for the future and is looking for one or two students to represent the youth voice and attend the following planning sessions (one or two students per session):

**Business & Industry: Friday, December 4th from 9:00am – 12:00pm
**Downtown Sidney: Friday, December 4th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
**Waterfront & Environment: Friday, December 4th from 3:30pm – 5:30pm
**Multi-Family Residential Areas: Saturday, December 5th from 9:00am – 12:00pm
**Single-Family Residential Areas: Saturday, December 5th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Please see Ms. Gribling or Ms. Chicanot in the office if you are interested.

Although we will not be hosting our traditional, annual Terry Fox Run this year at Parkland, students are still encouraged to get out and complete the run on their own and/or donate to our school’s fundraising page. Stay tuned for some other exciting ways to run as part of the Parkland School community this fall. Our school’s fundraising page: http://www.terryfox.ca/ParklandSecondary
