Food Drive now through Dec 17. Prizes for the class with the most donations.

Our Leadership students have organized a backpack drive for Where the Heart Is foundation. Donations of backpacks, toiletries, non-perishable food items and winter clothes can be placed in the boxes in the front foyer until December 18.

Interim reports are being emailed today through Dec 8, call 250-655-2700 for Parent/Teacher phone interviews on December 10 ~ 5-7pm.

December 10 is early dismissal 2:00 - Wed/Fri bell schedule. Parent/Teacher interviews 5-7pm.

Got an overdue library book?  Donate a food item for the Food Bank drive to the library and have it erased!  (*Does not apply to textbooks).

Report Cards have been distributed. Pick up now at the office.

A reminder to order your Year Book - $45. Call 250-655-2736 to order and pay over the phone.

Just a reminder for Grade 9 students/parents, the Immunization forms are now over due, please return them to the office asap.

The Parkland Track 2021 campaign has been officially launched.  You will notice posters in the school and around the community advertizing this campaign.  We hope to raise enough money by June of next year to replace the track over the summer.  Please spread the word about this exciting new project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE NOW button on the website for those interested in donating.

Our District Indigenous Post-Secondary Liaison Shane Hartman is at Parkland every Tuesday from 11:00am-12:00pm in the Cultural room to answer questions and help you with your Post-Secondary needs. Canadian Coast Guard College – Virtual Presentation – Dec. 10: Register for a virtual presentation hosted by the Canadian Coast Guard College, "Discover the Officer Training Program."  The four-year Officer Training Program is one of the best marine training programs in the world, producing both Marine Engineering Officers and Marine Navigation Officers.  Graduates of the CCGC receive a Canadian Coast Guard College Diploma, a Bachelor of Technology in Nautical Sciences, a Commercial Certification issued by Transport Canada, continued employment with the Canadian Coast Guard, and internationally recognized certification.  Virtual Presentation Date: THURSDAY, Dec 10 @ 4:30pm.  To register: https://ccg1.hiringplatform.ca/18626-virtual-presentation-on-discover-the-officer-training-program/59849-registration/en

HighTechU has been granted funds through the extended Canada Summer Jobs program to hire a number of High-School Software Development Interns part-time starting at the end of November until the end of February 2021.

Applicants must be currently registered in a BC high-school and must be over the age of 15 to be eligible (see job description for details).

TRAINING, APPRENTICESHIPS, AND SPECIAL COURSES OFFERED:

District Career Program now accepting applications - Are you ATHLETIC, COLLABORATIVE, MATHEMATICAL, PRECISE, TACTILE?
Do you like working with WOOD?  Then you should think about applying for the STAC- Carpentry Apprentice Program Q3 and Q4
Students are immersed in the "Level One" Carpentry curriculum where they learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the roof top.
Students who successfully complete STAC may transition to Camosun College to participate in a regular 7-Week Level 1 Carpentry Apprenticeship Program.      See Ms. Mac for more Info!

After School Math Tutorial Now Running (Virtually!)
Former Parkland Student and UVic math degree holder Chloe Hegland will be hosting extra-help sessions for math after school on Wednesdays from 2:15 to 3:30. Students will need their own device and Zoom account to join, but can do so from the comfort of their home. Drop in once you are home after school whenever you need help working through problems, require a mini review lesson, or want help studying for a test. The credentials to join are:
