Thursday June 24, 2021  ~  Day 1  ~~ last day of classes
Today is the last day of classes. Tomorrow is for any students who need extra help finishing up assignments.  Check the website in September for next school years schedule and opening routines.
Year end report cards will be available July 2-9 at the front office.
Timetables for the 2021-2022 school year have been handed out. See the QR code on the timetable to make a counselling appointment for course changes. 
Yearbooks are now available at the office. Remember all textbooks and library books need to be returned before you receive your yearbook.
A great opportunity from IBM for students entering grades 7-12 to have some fun and learn some cool STEAM (Science, Engineering, Arts and Math) knowledge at summer camp. The virtual STEAM camp July 19-23 is free but registration is required.
School Bus registration for 2021/22 is now open until June 30, 2021. You will need your student number to register for transportation -  generally, 7 digits. Registration Home Page.

St Michael's University is offering musical theatre summer camps August 23 - September 3. Register now.

Here are 2 items from the Ministry of Education.  1) Voluntary Student Survey 2) Thank you message.  
1. New Grade 9-12 Student COVID Survey: The Ministry wants to hear from grade 9-12 students about the impact of COVID-19 on their learning. This student survey is a voluntary and anonymous - survey link. The link will be open until June 30. 

 
2. Year-End Thank You Video to Students: Premier John Horgan, Education Minister Jennifer Whiteside and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry have prepared a short video to thank B.C. students, including graduates, for their hard work, determination, and resilience during this most challenging of school years.

Parkland's Concert Band participated in a festival earning a Superior Rating from the Vancouver Island Concert Band Festival and an invitation to the 2021-2022 Nationals, please enjoy their submission.  Our Jazz band earned a Gold Standing in the West Coast Jazz Festival. Congratulations to all members of both bands and their incredible maestro!

Grad Class 2022 it's time to order your grad pinnies. Order forms are available in your google grad 2022 classroom or at the office. Orders due July 9, 2021.
Saanich International Student Program (SISP) is looking for host families for the 2021/2022 school year.
The Parkland Track 2021 campaign has been officially launched.  You will notice posters in the school and around the community advertizing this campaign.  We hope to raise enough money by June of this year to replace the track over the summer.  Please spread the word about this exciting new project and check out the website at www.parklandtrack2021.com .  There is a DONATE NOW button on the website for those interested in donating. We also have a Go Fund Me page. It will take a village to raise the money needed but we can do it!

Just a reminder that student drop off/pick up is in the parking lot by the tennis courts. Or you can use the bus loop.

EMPLOYMENT & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: 

Kiwanis Club operates the concession at Panorama Arena during the hockey season and they are looking for a
polite and courteous student who likes to deal with the public and has Food Safe.  The job will run from mid-August through to March 2022.  $16.00 / hour. Please see Ms.McNamee or Ms. Beaucamp if you are interested.

Any student wishing to do Work Experience over the Summer must see Ms. McNamee or Mrs. Beaucamp this week to activate the course or you will not be able to use the hours!!!
