Parkland teacher-librarian, Bonnie McComb, has been awarded the 2012 British Columbia Teacher Librarians’ Association’s  Val Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement.  This award recognizes outstanding, substantial and recognizable long-standing contribution to the BCTLA, school libraries, or teacher-librarianship.  She has previously been awarded the 2010 and 2011 BCTLA  Alan Knight Memorial Award  for the most outstanding article submitted to The Bookmark and the 2003 Canadian Association of School Association (CASL)  National Teacher-Librarian of the Year Award for outstanding contribution to school librarianship within Canada through planning and implementing school library programs, based on a collaborative model which integrates library and classroom programs.
