SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

A big congratulations to the Parkland JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL  team that started the season with 9 wins, 2 losses. Over the holidays, the British Columbia Senior Secondary Girls Basketball Association posted the rankings for the province and the Parkland Junior Girls basketball team is currently ranked 6th in the province. What an incredible achievement to be in the top 10 in the province  - something that has not happened at our school for a very long time.

NAVAL RESERVE HMCS Malahat: Tuesday January 20, 2015. Open House - Saturday, January 31st, 2015. Free event includes boat rides, ship tour, various displays. Not only informative but also fun and engaging. Anyone who has any questions about exactly what the Naval Reserve does, should attend! This event is designed to showcase each trade and what it means to join the Reserves.

Saanich Peninsula Power and Sail Squadron will present two Boating courses @ Parkland, STARTING JANUARY 13, 2015. An ideal training opportunity to qualify for safe boating in our local waters. Courses run from 7 P.M. until 10 P.M. on Tuesday evenings, & include some self study and practical exercises. Subsequent training includes ten in- depth sessions for the Boating Essentials Course. These cover all necessary topics to safely plan and carry out safe navigation, anchoring and cruising in our local waters. Course costs reduced for Parkland students. Info available at Saanich Peninsula Squadron website: www.sspps.org or by self registering on the www.cps-ecp.ca website. In person registration for first session will be at 6:45 on the 13th of January, 2015.

PLAN AHEAD FOR 3RD ANNUAL AVIATION CAREER DAY: Saturday Feb 21, from 10 to 3 @ B.C. AVIATION MUSEUM, Sidney, B.C.  “The sky's the limit” corporate employers & post
 secondary educators will be represented , including: BCIT Aerospace, Dept of National Defense, Viking Air, Victoria Flying Club, Transport Canada, NAV Canada, Victoria Airport Authority, Air Cadets,& others.

TEX Trades Exploration Program: students interested in Trades Exploration Program - 5 month program offered by SD63 is a sampler of Welding, Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical.
