PARKLAND DAILY NEWS
Friday January 9, 2015
HAPPY New Year! That was school week one...

MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

SPECIAL NOTICE for all students & staff, who park or who will park in Parkland's Student Parking Lot:

Seismic upgrades will begin as early as next week at our school, and a portion of the parking spots in the Student Lot will need to become dedicated Teacher parking spots. Unfortunately, this will become a permanent solution over the next two years as seismic work will be ongoing until summer 2017.

Affected by this change are ALL PARKING SPOTS THAT FACE OUR PLAYING FIELD - students are asked to park only in the centre spots and those spots that face McDonald Park Road. This change will take place starting MON, JAN.12TH!!

Also, please consider the fact that this parking lot will now be much 'busier' and space will become limited on some days, so ensure that:

* your STUDENT parking sticker is visible (on front windshield); if you do not have a parking sticker, please come to the office to get an application for a parking decal.
* you use up all of the available student spots only (NOT the visitor parking spots).
*you are parked properly in your spot (not sideways or on a diagonal).

* STAFF: if you do not have a parking decal, please see Ms. Gribling asap.

Most importantly, there will be an increase in monitoring of this lot. Once things get settled & we all adapt to the new routine, if there are any student cars which continue to be parked improperly, they will risk having parking privileges revoked and/or being towed. If you have any questions or concerns with this change, please feel free to chat with Mr. Buckham.

FINALLY: there should be NO STUDENT DROP-OFF IN THE BACK STUDENT PARKING LOT EXCEPT FOR PALS STUDENTS, FROM NOW ON!

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR YOUR SEISMIC COOPERATION!
