MEETINGS, PRACTICES, announcements, EVENTS:

Lost : two very special sketchbooks - one with key and one with gears design on front. Please return to front office if found.

MEETING FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS originally scheduled for today has been cancelled. This meeting is postponed until Tuesday March 3 at lunch, in the theatre.

REMINDER FOR ALL USERS OF STUDENT PARKING LOT: #'s 13 to 38 are now designated for staff use only. Also, students and staff,  please ensure you have proper PARKLAND PARKING DECALS. Any questions or concerns, see front office.

PARKLAND COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE: Thursday February 26, @ 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Course displays, music, dance, languages, academies presentations, careers & apprenticeships info.Fun for everyone -  chili and a bun, carnival games for kids. Community members and families all welcome! Event includes:  SR BOYS BASKETBALL GAME, 5:45 p.m.

MOVIE FUNDRAISER FOR PARKLAND JR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM: "Happy Feet Two” playing at Star Cinema, Saturday February 28, 3:30 p.m. Tickets available from players, $10.

ALL GRADS must complete Grad Transition Plan by March 6th!

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Attention all Track and Field athletes, there will be be practice on Tuesday and Thursday next week.  Please meet on the Track at 3:15 P.M.

Students interested in running the Bazan Bay 5K on March 8th in Sidney, please see Ms. Dibblee for more information. If we get a school team of 10 student runners, your registration will be covered by the school and you can run for FREE! Deadline to register is Thursday March 3 - see Ms. Dibblee for further information.

Parkland is hosting the Islands starting this Thursday and will play Carihi first @ 5:45 p.m.,  Thursday Feb 26. Please come out and support the team later this week, at SENIOR BOYS BASKETBALL "AAA" Islands from Thursday, Feb 26th, Friday 27th, and Saturday, Feb 28th. Top three teams from the Island qualify for the Provincials.

Students related to BCGEU members can apply for $3000 scholarship for post-secondary full time, & $2000 for part-time studies.  Deadline: Friday, Feb 27th.  Ask Mr. Choo for details.

Royal Bank  Aboriginal Students scholarships worth up to $4000 per academic year.  Deadline: February 27th. See Mr. Choo.

RE/MAX of Western Canada Quest for Excellence offering 16 $1000 bursaries. Due:  March 9th.

Two Dave Gifford Memorial scholarships for athletes available, $700 each. Deadline is April 24th.

Two Zone scholarships for BCSS athletes available at $500 each. Application deadline is April 24th.

Educational Facility Managers Association of B.C. offering 4 $1000 bursaries. Deadline is April 30th.

LISA (The Lower Island Soccer Association)has 4 scholarships at $1000 each. Deadline: April 30th.

Two Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarships available at $500. Deadline is May 1st.

The Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon and Rotaract present "Adventures in Technology”: a tour of Canada's research facilities & finest corporations for students interested in a career in science, engineering or technology. Registration fee: $350 including food and social events, plus travel expenses to and from Saskatoon. Application deadline is May 14,.

SOUTH VANCOUVER ISLAND SKILLS CANADA REGIONAL CONTEST: takes place at Camosun College Friday February 27, 2015. Five Parkland students are participating!

YOUTH TEAM OPPORTUNITY: Want a job that can help your Career? Are you entering Grade 11 or 12 in September 2015? Join the Youth team at Coast Capital Savings.
