Reminder to all 45 grade 12 students who have not completed their GT package -- it is OVERDUE.  Please submit all paperwork if you want to get your grad package.  See GRAD BOARD - YELLOW LIST - NOT QUALIFIED FOR INTERVIEW!

Camosun is hosting a Comic Arts Conference on Saturday April 11 at Lansdowne campus. Admission is free.  Who's Who event in the world of comics and graphic novels. Superheroes of Victoria will be there as live models for people to draw. See Camoens website for details.

AFTER GRAD FUNDRAISER: Monday April 13 Burger and Beer and silent auction fundraiser for after grad, @ Prairie Inn, starts at 5 p.m.

SPORTS, TEAMS, TEAM MEETINGS:

Another great day for the small but strong Parkland Track and Field Team.
All athletes did amazingly well!
Some highlights:
Sayril Silaya - 1st in 200 m, 2nd in Triple Jump
Ben Sammons - 1st in 300 m Hurdle, 1st in 200 m
Sarah Gibson -  1st in Javelin, 4th in shot put
Emma Dennis -  2nd in Javelin, 3rd in shot put
Jacqueline Gaby -  1st in 1500m Race Walk
Well Done Parkland!

Congratulations to Senior Girls Soccer team who had their first game & win this week with a 9-0 victory over SMS. Vanessa Guerra & Jeanna Sheppard shared the shut out & goals were scored by Sarah Gibson (4), Charlotte Junker (2), Zoe King, Paris Stratton & Erin Pomphrey. The whole team had an amazing game of beautiful passing. Well done ladies!

OPEN GYM BADMINTON FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY ON FRIDAYS AFTER SCHOOL.

Parkland Terry Fox Run takes place on April 13th at 9:00 & 2:00. PE classes in A and D block and any other interested students welcome to participate. Course will be either a 1.2K walk or 2 loop (2.4K) run around Parkland and into Blue Heron forest.Students can go to the PE office if they would like pledge forms or they can register online.

SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS & COMPETITIONS: please see MR. CHOO

Application forms for the Parkland Community scholarships now available from Mr. Choo.  These scholarships for achievement in non academic areas such as Judo, Carpentry, Musical Theatre or volunteer work have a deadline of Thursday April 30th.

The  $1500 Major Gerry Edwards Scholarship is available to a student that has demonstrated community leadership and outstanding volunteer efforts.  The deadline is Friday, May 1st.  See Mr. Choo for details.

BEACON COMMUNITY SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP AWARD OF $1500 available to those who have demonstrated community service. Deadline May 1. See Mr. Choo or Beacon Community Services for submission requirements.

Grade 12's: any online courses required to complete grad program must be done by April 15th, 2015. HAVE YOU FINISHED YOUR ONLINE COURSE YET? See Mr. Choo.

Two Dave Gifford Memorial scholarships for athletes available, $700 each. Deadline is April 24th.

Two Zone scholarships for BCSS athletes available at $500 each. Application deadline is April 24th.

Educational Facility Managers Association of B.C. offering 4 $1000 bursaries. Deadline is April 30th.

LISA (The Lower Island Soccer Association)has 4 scholarships at $1000 each. Deadline: April 30th.

Two Bert & Greta Quartermaine Badminton Scholarships available at $500. Deadline is May 1st.

Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon and Rotaract present "Adventures in Technologyā€¯: a tour of Canada's research facilities & corporations for students interested in science, engineering or technology. Registration fee: $350 including food and social events, plus travel expenses to and from Saskatoon. Application deadline is May 14,.

Food Safe / Shoal Center: Date: Friday April 24 (Pro D Day) - Cost: $50. Registration Due: April 15th. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in food service, food retail, or food processing. When looking for a summer job, this is great for your resume.
