ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: We have a very special gathering and acknowledgement this Friday JANUARY 19 AT 2 P,M. in the Theatre. This is a special farewell gathering for the any students who will be leaving Parkland and going back to their home countries at the end of this semester. We will meet right after school this Friday. Be sure to plan on being there at 2 p.m. in the theatre.



INTRAMURAL HANDBALL WILL BE STARTING ON FEBRUARY 1 SO GET YOUR TEAM SIGNED UP BY JANUARY 26. GET A SIGN-UP SHEET FROM THE MAIN OFFIC OR FROM SUTTY IN THE GYM.




Congratulations to the Senior Boys Basketball team for their great work at the G.P. VANIER Tournamhey placed 5th, and also won the Best Sportsman-like tam! Way to go Panthers!



HMCS MALAHAT is coming to school at lunch TUESDAY JANUARY 16 to provide recruiting informaiton for any interested students. See booth in front foyer.


"FIND YOUR FIT"  CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT COMING TO PARKLAND:


MONDAY JANUARY 15, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for students; 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for parents.

This WorkBC "Find Your Fit" Tour event is an interactive student-based event taking place at Parkland Secondary School, for student and parents in School District 63. This event allows students to jump rigcluding accounting, carpentry, welding and more will help students apply real life experiences to their career training. Students will also be able to connect with WorkBC's labour market information, tools and services. Parents are also welcome to attend the event, as they look for ways to educate and support their children in their career exploration. Find Your Fit is part of the provincial government's B.C.'s Skills for Jobs Blueprint commitment to re-engineer education and deliver the skilled workforce B.C.'S growing economy needs. Drop in and explore the program, and discover how to "find your fit" for a great career!

Exam schedule is now posted on the main page of our Parkland website; please ensure that you check to see when your exams are scheduled. More importantly to all students - if you have any exam conflicts listed - two or more exams running at the same time - PLEASE CHECK with your teachers as well as Mr. Buckham to have a plan put in place for you to write one of your conflicting exams at another time during exam week.




PARKLAND MUSICAL THEATRE: Tickets for INTO THE WOODS are now for sale! Show runs Wednesday, January 31 - Saturday, February 3, 2018. Theatre doors open at 6:40 p.m. - show begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. All evening ticket prices are $15.00.

We are excited to announce a Saturday Matinee for our younger audiences at a reduced price this year! Matinee tickets are $12.00. Theatre doors open at 1:40 p.m.; show begins promptly at 2:00 p.m. This show is appropriate for kids 6 years and up.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PARKLAND JUNIOR BOYS BASKETBALL team, for their win over SMU Wednesday night, by 15 points! Great start!

Our JUNIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM played well against SMU as well on Wednesday night - good effort everyone!



BADMINTON CLUB BEGINS AGAIN! Badminton Club will be up and running this Friday January 12, after school, from 2 to 3 p.m. See you there!




NOTICE TO ALL RUGBY PLAYERS: because of recent poor weather, and the upcoming exam week, rugby practices will be postponed for the next few eeks, and will start up again on Wednesday January 31 at 2:15 p.m.
