B. SIDNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL  annual SPRING FLING on Friday May 25th. Volunteer for this fabulous community event!

C. GRADE 12 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: GET ON BOARD WITH THE STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - new event sponsored by SURFCANADA and Town of Sidney. Variety of volunteer jobs - SATURDAY MAY 26 , SUNDAY MAY 27.

D. BRENTWOOD FESTIVAL -Saturday June 2 - from 9 a.m. to 1, or 12 to 4 p.m.  -  Children's activities booth, face painting, crafts.

E. ACCESS AWARENESS - SAT JUNE 2, from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. - @ Shoal Centre - accessibility challenge, event support.

NEW: SUMMER CAMP COORDINATOR, MAINTENANCE SUPPORT, KITCHEN SUPPORT - POSITIONS AVAILABLE @ Victoria Native Friendship Centre, YOUTH TEAM - see notice boards, and Ms. McNamee for details. All full-time over the summer, $12.65 per hour.

NEW: SAANICH FORESTRY CENTRE LOOKING FOR STUDENTS FOR OUTDOOR WORK, & FIR CONES HARVEST: proper work gear needed, work on orchard ladders included. Last two weeks of August harvesting fir cones, may continue part-time into September. Base rate currently $13.30 an hour; see Ms. McNamee for application & interview process.

NEW: FAMILY HELPER, DINNER PREP / MAKING, clean-up  - two days a week, three hours per day from 4 to 7 p.m.; @ $15 per hour.

NEW: PENINSULA COUNTRY MARKET - two students hired to help out at weekly market all summer. Work outdoors, enjoy live music, fresh fruit & veggies - a wonderful summer job!

1. NEW FOOD SAFE COURSE - Saturday JUNE 9 - these classes fill quickly! Useful for working in food service, retail, or processing industries. Learn how to handle food safely. Level 1 - 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., bring a lunch. Fee: $50.

2. PROFESSIONAL FACE PAINTING WORKSHOP: free! May 26 - from 1 to 3 p.m. @ Shoal Centre, Sidney - bring your imagination, and get ready to help YEP at the summer markets, or start your own business! See Ms. McNamee to sign up.


TUTORIALS AND COURSE WORK ASSISTANCE: LOTS OF HELP AND ACADEMIC SUPPORT AVAILABLE!

1. ROOM 201, EACH DAY FOR 1 HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES, with Mr. Morley - available to help students with MATH, CALCULUS, SCIENCE, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY. OPEN to all students, including those working on SIDES courses.

2. TUTORIALS IN LEARNING CENTRE: REMINDER TO ALL TEACHERS AND STUDENTS - TUTORIAL IS AVAILABLE daily after school.                                            Wednesday & Friday tutorial times are best for longer tests & assignments.
3. LEARNING COMMONS SUPPORT: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday day after school until 3:40 p.m., Wednesday   & Friday until 3:35 p.m.                                    PLEASE NOTE: ELL TUTOR also available Wednesday & Friday after school.

4. MATH & SCIENCE HELPavailable every day after school in Room 208.
