PARKLAND HOSTS THE CANADIAN COAST GUARD - THURSDAY DECEMBER 6 - special display at lunch; afternoon classroom visits. Info about Coast Guard Officer Training, in Marine Engineering and Marine Navigation. In four year program, the officer cadet receives tuition free education, training allowance, free room and board, textbooks and uniforms, medical and dental coverage. Upon completion of four year program - guaranteed employment with Canadian Coast Guard. HIGH TECH U: AN INITIATIVE OF UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA - working to empower the next generation of innovators in computer programs and technology, through real-world, experiential learning opportunities. High school students can apply to seven week intensive weekend program called THE ACADEMY, offered Saturdays from 10 to 4, on UVIC campus.
